M-300 is precision head alignment gauge -and guide bar
This precision gauge-and guide bar permits easy, accurate verification of head and tape guide adjustment on drive equipment to achieve optimum performance and cassette interchangeability between transport systems. Correctly setting tape guides will prolong tape cassette life and reliability by lowering the probability of tape edge damage.This gauge provides reference marks for correctly setting the dept of head penetration into the tape cassette. This setting is critical for obtaining good output of the record signal on the tape.The gage plate indicates the relative position of both the erase and the record play head,
according to the Philips standard. The square edge of the guide -check bar is also used to check head perpendicularity to the tape surface.
Typical application of the plate and bar are as follows:
- Field service, installation and repair.
- periodic preventive maintenance at user location.
- Engineering analysis of tape drives.
- final inspection of cassette system : Azimuth. Height, Penetration, Zenith.
